What is the cost savings?
This can vary greatly based on how much you drive, and the price you pay for your fuel. For a diesel pickup which gets 20 miles per gallon, operating it for 30,000 miles in a year, buying fuel at $1.00 per gallon less than diesel fuel, on average, the annual savings would be $1,500.00. If the difference in fuel price was $2.00 per gallon, the savings would be $3,000.00. Of course, your mileage (and savings) will vary. However, the savings will continue long after you recover the cost of conversion – and most estimates are that diesel fuel prices will go up, not down.
