What is the chassis made of?
The chassis frame is made of mild steel, covered with an epoxy resin. The frames were initially made from stainless steel too, but were too expensive – so were later developed from mild steel with the epoxy coating. The frame is one of the most common parts of a DeLorean to rust or corrode, and is perhaps the most important thing to check when buying a car.
