What is the best approach to reason with a fukwit dog owner?
You should really have reported the attacking of your dog and raised a complaint to the police regarding the lack of lead if the dog is likely to hurt others. Staffords’ foundations are not based on killing or even hurting people. I agree this owner sounds completely irresponsible, but it is NOT the dog’s fault. You could well be reported yourself now. Unless you can prove it was in self defence (which you don’t seem to suggest it was) then you wouldn’t have a leg to stand on. Report him, else the situation will get worse and an innocent dog will be killed.
You were way out of line. It’s your responsibility as a dog owner to keep your dog away from dogs like that. If that means leaving the park, it means leaving the park. You can always call the police and/or animal control and report the dog that is out of hand, but bottom line, you should have removed your dog. You shouldn’t be proud of yourself. In fact, you should be in jail for animal cruelty for kicking the dog and assault for kicking the person. Not just yobs and junkies own these kinds of dogs. Staffies are wonderful dogs. Highly trainable and loyal. They’re actually great family dogs around kids if trained and socialized properly. Your attitude is nothing but a prejudice. Not much different than prejudging people based on race or religion. (I am willing to bet the Staffie wasn’t out of line at all but was playing with his dog and this guys account of what happened is overblown based on the fact that the dog was a Staffie. In other words, if a poodle had done the same kind of play
well first not all junies own these dogs…I own one and i am a stay at home mom, very christian and have two kids…ours is a beloved family dog…..however i do undestand your fears…..If the owner is being irresponsible ou have to take action…call animal control and have it picked up….If ther dog is attacking yours it may be a result f it being trined to…I ahve owned them for over 10years and have never had one attack another dog………This is some what nature…but alot more teaching. Call your animal control and ahave it picked up…when they have to pay the fine they will start to respect you a little more!
