What is the BAK Interbody Fusion System?
Dr. Peloza is a pioneer and clinical investigator of the BAK Interbody Fusion System. The BAK implants are small, threaded metal cylinders that help restore degenerated disc space to its original height, relieving pressure on the nerves. Segments of the painful degenerated disc and vertebral bones are removed and BAK implants inserted. A small amount of bone is then taken from the hip and packed inside the BAK implants. This allows the bone to grow around the implant, fusing the vertebrae and stopping the pain.
