What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is the School’s annual fundraising initiative to enhance the its current-year operating budget. Annual Giving donations support all aspects of ASL’s operating budget, including the cost of attracting the best teachers, offering excellent academic and extracurricular programs, and equipping and maintaining a state-of-the-art infrastructure beyond what tuition alone could provide. The bulk of ASL’s operating expenses are employee salary and benefit costs, which represent approximately 72% of tuition income.
The University of Miami’s Annual Fund is the most popular way that alumni, parents, students and friends support the University. Annual Fund gifts are expended in the same fiscal year in which they are received. The Annual Fund provides general, unrestricted support for the University, providing general operating support to the University.
Each year the Foundation initiates an annual campaign, which provides on-going support for the Foundation to meet the needs of the College. During the annual fund drive, the Foundation contacts faculty, staff, alumni, past contributors, corporations, and private foundations for support of Metropolitan Community College. Donations support previously established funds, establish new funds, and support the unrestricted fund.
