A trading halt is a surveillance mechanism in-built into the ATS during which period no exchange of transactions may take place. A trading halt may be imposed during one or more trading days. The ATS contains a system via which the Stock Exchange will inform the market of trading halts. There are two types of trading halts, namely market halt and security halt.
