Scanning resolution is the measure of pixels per inch that a graphic is digitized on a scanner. The number of pixels per inch or ppi is dependent on the end product. Generally you need low scanning resolution for graphics intended for the web, medium for those intended for printing on desktop printers and in presentations, and high resolution for those intended for commercial printing.
