What is safety of using Micro Current?
• Caution: Federal Law(USA) restricts TENS devices to sale by or on the order a licensed physician. • Indications: Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) devices are used for the symptomatic relief and management of chronic (long term) intractable pain and as an adjunctive treatment in the management of postsurgical traumatic acute pain problems. • Contraindications: • Do not place any electrodes to apply current to the carotid sinus(neck) region. • Any use of TENS on patients who have demand type cardiac pace-makers. • Any electrode placement that causes the current to flow trans-cerebrally (through the head). • The use of TENS for undiagnosed pain syndromes until the etiology has been established. • Warnings: • The safety of TENS during pregnancy or delivery has not been established. • TENS is not effective for pain of central origin. (This includes headache). • TENS devices should be used only under the continued supervision of a physician.
