What is sacrifice of Christ?
He could have stayed in heaven on His throne, living the life of luxury, but He came down to this horrendous world humbly as a baby, born to a virgin. He grew up living a humble life right next to those who would one day kill Him. He loved, loves, and will always love us and because He loves us He grew up here on earth and lived to die. He was rejected by the people that He came to save. When He grew to be a man, those He came to save crucified Him – because He was perfect and they felt threatened by Him. They put Him on a cross, putting nails through His hands and feet and a crown of thorns on His head. They mocked Him, and spat at Him.They beat Him to the death and as if that wasn’t enough, they stuck a sword through His side to make sure He was dead. He did that to give us forgiveness of every single sin committed by others, to give us – the people who killled Him – forgiveness for our mistakes. Jesus’ sacrifice was His life for all, which is why Christians live their life for Him.
