What is Roses?
Roses is the big sporting tournament between Lancaster and York that takes place every year. It comprises pretty much every sporting event under the sun, and is always a great laugh. In 2008, Lancaster are hosting it, so naturally we want as many supporters and dancers for it as possible! We also have a reputation to maintain, as we have won the Ballroom event for a considerable number of years… The event itself is split into Beginners and Advanced, each section having 4 dances, 2 latin and 2 ballroom. Beginners dance the Quickstep, Waltz, Jive and Chacha, Advanced dancers take the Tango, Waltz, Samba and Rumba. Each Uni enters 3 couples for each beginners dance and 2 for each Advanced. Lancaster likes to enter as many different couples as possible, so we all get to show off how fabulous we are!
