PUD is polyurethane dispersion in water. There are three types of dispersions : anionic, non-ionic and cationic.Firstly, an isocynate terminated pre polymer is synthesized by mixing polyol, di-isocynate and hydroxy alkanoic acid. This is then neutralized by an amine (TEA) and dispersed in water which is further chain extended by diamines like EDA, IPD etc.PUD’s are available in 1K and 2K systems.
