What is Probation Violation?
Probation violation occurs when a person fails to adhere to the terms of his/her probation. When a person does not comply with the terms of his/her probation, he/she may be punished with the maximum sentence for the crime in which he/she was placed on probation for committing. After a person is placed on probation, he/she is allowed to return to his/her home environment instead of jail. In order for a person to successfully complete the terms of his/her probation, he/she must follow the rules that were set forth by the court at the time he/she was sentenced.
