What is OFTP?
The OFTP (ODETTE File Transfer Protocol) provides a standardised way for separate computer systems to communicate with each other. OFTP (recommendation of the Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA) Nr. 4914/2) is the definition of the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) for the ISO/OSI layers 4 to 7 of the ODETTE group IV. Data transmissions of many different data types are supported. OFTP is the standard protocol in the european automobile and supplier industry. It is used as well by the chemical industry and is being introduced by other sectors (banks, transport).
