What is NESA?
EducationOnStage.jpegThe Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA) is a non-profit, voluntary association of more than 90 private, independent international schools in the Near East and South Asia, a region stretching from Libya, Greece and Egypt in the west, to Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the east. Our regular member schools follow an American/international college preparatory curriculum and typically serve students of more than four dozen nationalities. What unites us is our commitment to offering students the best possible education by promoting professional and personal links among educators. The NESA Center, our headquarters on the campus of the American College of Greece in Athens, provides professional development opportunities and educational services for teachers and administrators in our member schools. NESA stands for the North East Sports Academy which is part of Tyne Metropolitan College. There are currently 7 different sporting areas available to athletes which include Men’s Football, Women’s Football, Basketball, Netball, Badminton, Rugby and Golf. These sports currently form part of the North East Sports Academy and NESA ensures that it offers students the best coaching in their chosen sporting area, access to the best facilities, and links to some of the regions elite teams such as Newcastle United Women’s Football Club, Newcastle Eagles, Newcastle Falcons and Team Northumbria.
The National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) is a fellowship of men who have achieved the Eagle Scout rank and who desire using their efforts and influence toward forming the kind of young men America needs for leadership. The objective of NESA is “to serve Eagle Scouts and, through them, the entire movement of Scouting.” NESA Membership Only those who have been granted the Eagle Scout Award by, and who are members in good standing with, the Boy Scouts of America may hold membership in the National Eagle Scout Association. Applications for NESA membership are cross-checked against the national Eagle Scout register maintained by the Eagle Scout Service.
