What is nano technology?
Nano technology is the process of making things extremely small. In nano technology, devices range from 1 to 100 nanometers in size. It may be noted that 1 nanometer is equal to one-billionth of a meter. At these extremely small dimensions, principles of Newtonian physics are not applicable. Instead, quantum physics takes over. Nano technology refers to the study of controlling elements that are extremely small. This includes elements at the molecular and atomic scale, typically including items 100 nanometers in size or less. Nano technology has allowed for the production of a silver particle so small that it can enter a single red blood cell10. This is significant because the nano-sized particle is able to travel through capillaries—the tiniest blood vessels in the body, and inactivate viruses at the cellular level. In this way, silver sol acts as a safe “internal disinfectant”.11 More specifically, Professor Rustum Roy of Penn State University engineered a specific size of the Guardian Silver elemental silver particle that resonates at 890 to 910 terahertz—the same frequency as blue germicidal lights used in hospitals for disinfection.
