Be supportive and learn as much as you can by asking questions of your child as he/she meets people through the recruitment process. Fellow members will be more than happy to tell them (and you) about their group.Because your endorsement of their choice means a lot to them, we encourage parents to ask questions and become as informed as possible about fraternity/sorority life. If parents have any questions, they are encouraged to call the Department of Student Life for answers. (573) 341-4329 or email at greeks@mst.

Make sure that your correct address and phone number is given to the hospital where your baby is born. If you do not have a telephone, give the phone number of someone who knows how to reach you. If possible, give the hospital the name and phone number of the doctor who will take care of your baby after leaving the hospital and have them put this doctor’s information on your baby’s screening card. Make sure your baby’s doctor also has your correct address and phone number. Again, give another contact number if you do not have a telephone. It is important that your baby’s doctor be able to contact you quickly if a re-test is needed. If you are asked to bring your baby in for re-testing, do so as soon as you can. If your child does have a condition, quick action is very important.

We recognize parents as the primary educators of their children. In the individualized program your role is to collaborate with your student and teacher to design a unique Student Learning Plan, work with your teacher to assist your child in accomplishing the SLP, and assist your teacher with their assessment by submitting the student’s Portfolio and conversing online with your teacher. If your student is enrolled as an online learner (Grades 5 to 12) it is your role to ensure that your student is actively pursuing their studies, and that they have access to an internet computer, that they are communicating regularly with their teacher. Review all communication, via email, between your student and their teacher.
