What is Mulberry?

0

Mulberry is a standards-based Internet mail client that uses either the IMAP4 or POP3 protocol for accessing your messages on a VUmail server, and SMTP protocol for sending messages. Mulberry supports SSL for secure authentication using your VUnet ID. Several years ago Mulberry was chosen as the standard e-mail client on the Vanderbilt campus. However, in late 2005 the company that produced and maintained Mulberry (CyrusSoft, Inc.) declared bankruptcy, and other clients improved as they took advantage of newer technology.

Mulberry is an application that allows you to use electronic mail (email). It is available for Windows, Apple Macintosh and Unix. It is important that you keep the password on the IMSP server the same as that on your Post Office. If your email is delivered to a system other than the central staff or student systems (staff-imap-srv or student-imap-srv), see Changing passwords for how to change your password on different systems. Further information and installation instructions can be found on the web in Mulberry at the University of Bristol.
