What is mince meat pie?
Mince meat pie is a sweet pastry type pie of British origin. These pies are quite tasty, and are popular during Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. The ingredients usually contain apples, and other dried fruits such as raisins and figs, some spices, and shortening (usually vegetable). Strangely enough, modern-day mince meat pies do not actually contain meat, but may contain beef fat.
