What is “living wage?
Living wage is generally defined as “the amount of income an individual or family needs to meet basic needs, maintain a safe, decent standard of living in their community and, save for future needs and goals.” The amount of income required by an individual or family to meet these needs is determined locally, regionally and nationally depending on living conditions. In Alberta, wages are provincially regulated.
