What Is Lansinoh?
*~ Lansinoh is 100% lanolin, claimed to be “the world’s purest lanolin”. This hypoallergenic substance is a natural treatment for sore nipples; it contains no water to dilute its effectiveness or additives to irritate sensitive skin. Lansinoh is the only topical ointment endorsed by La Leche League International. Lansinoh was created by entrepreneur Resheda Hagen in 1984 when, shortly after the birth of her first daughter, she had very little success in procuring lanolin for the relief of pain due to nursing. Her husband, a physician, was able to provide her with a basic lanolin product, but Hagen discovered a method of refining the lanolin to a level of purity never before offered – one that would not have to be removed prior to nursing, further irritating the skin.
