A. When you download Nessus 3 UNIX, you receive the Nessus 3 scanning engine and a static set of Inclusive Plugins (see Subscriptions below for definition). When you download Nessus 3 for the Windows or Mac OS X operating systems, you receive both the scanning engine, NessusClient software and a set of Inclusive Plugins. In order to receive updates from Tenable under either a ProfessionalFeed or HomeFeed, you will need to register your scanner with Tenable through Nessus.org. Nessus 3 for UNIX/Linux platforms is not distributed with a GUI client. Tenable recommends installing NessusClient for UNIX/Linux systems which is available for download from Nessus.org. Both Nessus 3 Windows and Mac OS X clients can be used with the Nessus 3 UNIX engine.
