What is IEEE 802.11?
Wireless networking hardware requires the use of underlying Technology that deals with radio frequencies as well as data transmission. The most widely used standard is 802.11 produced by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). This is a standard defining all aspects of Radio Frequency Wireless networking.
Wireless networking hardware is dependant on the technology that handles radio frequencies and data transmissions. The standard used by Four Seasons Wireless is 802.11 which were conceived by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). This has become a standard that defines all aspects of Radio Frequency Wireless networking. 802.11b can support speeds up to 11mbps.
IEEE 802.11 is a standard for wireless network connectivity using either Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) or Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum. This term originally referred to communication speeds up to 2Mbps in 2.4Ghz band, but it is now often used it identify all 802.11 family of protocols such as 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g, etc. The MAC level specification that covers these procols can be downloaded here.
