What is Hanko
It’s a small stamp people use as an official signature in Japan. As you can have different situations in everyday life, more or less formal, administrative or personal, people generally have a few different HANKO. The HANKO I carve can be used for official matters, but they should mean much more to the owner ! When I draw and carve stamps I love to burn some incense sticks while listening to some classical, jazz or relaxing music. I also have a great time finding and producing fabrics or lamps, for example. I love antiques, like this very old heater which belonged to my father. It was found back in the garret, it’s a very simple heater, a little bit like an alcohol-lamp, giving a gentle warmness. I also love the loudspeakers that I built within calabashes. They produce a cheap and retro sound. When I receive an order, I ask for a few informations about the intended owners, to help me get closer to their personality and adapt the work to it. I carve personally by hand and with my heart
