What Is Green Halloween?
Green Halloween is a non-profit, grassroots community initiative to create healthier and more Earth-friendly holidays, starting with Halloween. It is hosted by Treeswing, a 501(c) 3 committed to improving the lives of children through nutrition, exercise and healthy environments. It began in the Seattle area in 2007 with backers such as Whole Foods Market and was such a huge success that in 2008, the initiative is going nation-wide. In cities across the country, volunteer coordinators are not only working to turn their citys Halloween holiday healthy and eco-friendly, but theyre also raising money for their own, local non-profit beneficiaries.
