What is “Free Comic Book Day?
As the name implies, Free Comic Book Day is a single day when participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops. 2. When is Free Comic Book Day? Free Comic Book Day is held the first Saturday in May each year. This year in 2011 FCBD falls on May 7th, the same day as the Truman Day Festivals and our Magic the Gathering Action Pre-release Tournament. Horton’s Downtown Mall will be open from 9am to 3pm and the Free Comic Book Day activities will last all day. See the Events page for more details. 3. Are they really free? Yep! Everyone who enters the door will receive one completely free comic! 4. Is this the first Free Comic Book Day? No! The first Free Comic Book Day event was held in 2002.
