What is FINESSE?
The FINESSE club is an initiative aimed at increasing the academic renown of the Schulich School of Engineering (SSE) as a “First Choice” engineering school through the professional development of its students. At the undergraduate level, FINESSE aims to provide academic-minded students with a head start towards a future career in research and academia. At the graduate level, the aim is to enhance the quality of graduates through professional development activities in order to make the SSE a First Choice for academic institutions seeking to hire graduating Ph.D. students as faculty members. Ultimately, club activities will develop key skills for success in its members wishing to obtain and excel at academic positions in colleges and universities around the world. FINESSE organizes monthly workshops for its members to meet this goal. Workshops will address professional development in the areas of teaching, research, administration, and personal skills.
