While there are over 600 Eucalyptus species and varieties, less than 12 are viable producers of essential oils, and Yesteryear Plantations specialises in producing the very best pure oils and oil-based products for you. Yesteryear Plantations Eucalyptus Oil (or Euco) is the essential oil distilled from “Radiata” and “Blue Mallee” variants. The radiata variant grows at altitudes of over 200 metres and below 1200 metres, and between latitudes 33-38 degrees South. And the Tumut/Batlow region (where we are) is one of Australia’s main growing areas for the production of high-quality Euco. Frosts are common, and parts of the region get snowfalls in winter.
