What is distance learning?
Distance learning is a form of education that focuses on independent study and individualized instruction for students. Distance learning students are not in a physical classroom, rather they attend school using such means as the Internet, correspondence, television, or by some other avenue. MDLP is a computer-based online learning program. Students submit coursework and communicate with teachers online.
Distance learning is any learning that takes place with the instructor and student geographically remote from each other. Distance learning may occur by surface mail, videotape, interactive TV, radio, satellite, or any number of Internet technologies such as message boards, chat rooms, and desktop computer conferencing.
Distance Learning is a student centered instructional format that allows you to take courses without having to commit to regular campus attendance. All Ashland University Distance Learning credit courses are accredited. The course objectives of a Distance Learning course are the same as for the on-campus course, the difference being the type of delivery means or technology that allows you to communicate synchronously in real time and through other asynchronous online delivery formats.
