What is corrugated cardboard?
Corrugated cardboard is defined as “two pieces of heavy paper (usually brown) with a wavy layer in between. Corrugated Cardboard is a mandatory recyclable item and must be placed to the curb during “Blue Week” along with the clear glass recyclables. Cardboard should be flattened and placed either in the yellow recycling container or the flattened pieces may be contained in one of your larger boxes. PIZZA BOXES ARE CONSIDERED DIRTY AND SHOULD BE BROKEN DOWN AND PUT IN REGULAR GARBAGE BAGS. Boxboard (such as…cereal boxes, soda cartons, macaroni boxes, most shoe boxes and shirt boxes are not corrugated and can be discarded in the weekly trash, contained in garbage bags). Corrugated cardboard can be taken to the South County Transfer Station at no charge to the resident if desired.
