What Is Breast Reduction?
Breast reduction or reduction mammoplasty is a procedure that reduces the size of the breasts. It is done by the removal of excess skin, fat and glandular tissue to achieve the breast size that is proportionate to the your body and relieve you of the discomforts that you encounter everyday due to having large-sized breasts.
Women with very large, sagging breasts tend to have neck, back and shoulder pain. Patients find that breast reduction surgery greatly benefits their life and is one of the most satisfying procedures. Patients have not only relief of their symptoms, but also the ability to exercise better and wear better-fitting clothes. Patients who are good candidates for a reduction procedure have heavy, possibly sagging breasts, associated with neck, back or shoulder pain, shoulder notching, furrowing from bra straps, irritation or chronic rashes developing beneath the breasts, and difficulty with exercise and physical activity due to the size of the breasts. The procedure is generally performed under general anesthesia and usually takes two to four hours to complete. One can expect a recovery period of approximately two weeks. Click here to contact Dr.
