What is Board Diplomate Status?
The board of directors of AAPM has decided to certify qualified members as Board Diplomate and Credentialed in Psychiatry based on clinical training and experience. Candidate members applying for board diplomate status need to prove formal training in psychiatry and proficiency in clinical psychiatry. For specific requirements refer to Join Us and the application form. • Do I qualify for Board Diplomate Status? In order to qualify, you must be a physician, MD or DO, active or retired with formal training in psychiatry. You must submit clinical case studies and provide us with proper documentation. Please refer to the downloadable application in Join Us. • What should the clinical cases include? Clinical cases should provide enough information as to your competency as a psychiatrist. It may be a hospital admission or discharge or an office intake history. Please remove any direct reference to the patient such as name, medical record, hospital name or address as well as any other confide
