What is Auction Watch?
(A) Auction watch alerts you by email to new auctions that match your search terms. Login to My Totalbids, click on Auction Watch and enter a search term. When an item is listed that contains that term in the title or description the Totalbids system will send you an automated email. You can delete an Auction Watch at any time.
Auction Watch sends you a automated Email each time a item is listed matching your key word(s) To use this feature, insert a keyword(s) into the Watch List in “my control panel”. When the keyword(s) you entered into your list appear in an auction’s title or description, you will receive an e-mail notice informing you that an auction has been listed containing your keyword(s). You may also add a seller’s nickname and if that user opens an auction you will get notification by e-mail. This feature is most handy saving you the trouble of continuously visiting the Auction site to see if a particular item is available for sale.
During auction your Auction Watch agent creates a list of items containing your keyword(s). Sample keywords are: Ortelius California Medieval Manuscript. All keywords must be separated by a space when entering into your Auction Watch list. To use this feature, you first need to have entered keyword(s) into the Auction Watch list. Do not use general words as “a”, “map”, “of”, these words produce large result lists (1000+ hits), and slow down your page loading. Do not enter more than 3 keywords. The Auction Watch feature will be disabled 2 hours before closing. IMPORTANT: The results of ItemWatch are automatically displayed at your PersonalBid page. Please limit to a maximum of 25 items if you are having difficulties with the instant bid functionality. Reducing the number of items might helps.
