What is an RYT or R.Y.T.?
RYT stands for Registered Yoga Teacher. This is a voluntary registration that teachers apply for through a national non-profit organization called the Yoga Alliance (YA). YA sets minimum standards of requirements that a yoga teacher must have in their training in order to have RYT after their name. Not all qualified yoga teachers believe in voluntarily registering for various reasons.
