What is an Indigo child?
The term indigo child has come from a description by a lady called Nancy Ann Tappe, which was popularised in the book Indigo Children by Lee Carroll and Jan Tober. She started to see a different life purpose colour around children. She was able to see these intuitively as she had done for years. Many things have been written about these children in terms of their characteristics. these range from having a strong sense of self to being disruptive, even violent. they seem to be the system busters of the world, here to challenge and do things differently. However, it is very hard to generalise. What seems to be useful is to speak of indigo traits when speaking about particular children, when it is helpful to gain better understanding.
