What is an Executive Coach?
An executive coach is an experienced leader who has worked “in the trenches” of organizations, who understands the skills and attitudes that have been proven effective in leadership, and who has credentials attesting to his/her professionalism, ethics and depth of knowledge of both leadership and organizations. A coach also brings specific technical skills depending on background experience. Good coaching identifies strengths as well as areas for change, and builds on the existing capabilities of the participant. It guides the manager towards new awareness and suggests information and perceptions that may have been overlooked. Good Coaching is specific, goal oriented, time limited, and leads to measurable outcomes.
