What is an EndNote library?
An EndNote library is a database that stores your references. These references can link to your word processing documents to create in-text citations and bibliographies. EndNote libraries have a file extension of .enl. In order to begin using EndNote, you will need to create a library, or open an existing library.
An EndNote library is a collection of references, each containing the information required to create a bibliography. The references may also include supplemental information such as keywords, abstracts, notes, and URLs. Rather than creating a new library for each project, we recommend that you create one larger library. With one larger library you can use the Label, Keyword or Notes fields, together with the searching and sorting capabilities of EndNote, to help you organize and categorize your references.
