What is an Angioplasty?
Angioplasty is a technique that physician interventionalists use to dilate an area of arterial blockage with a catheter. A catheter is a balloon like substance (but it is stronger and more pliable than an actual balloon) that has an inflatable tip. A common type of angioplasty is a PTCA, or percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty.
