What is an A1C test?
Your HbA1c—or A1C for short—is a test used to measure your blood sugar control over the past 2 to 3 months. This test is different from the way you measure your blood sugar before or after a meal. Only your healthcare provider can measure your A1C. He or she will draw blood from your vein, using a needle. The results of this test will help your healthcare provider make a diabetes treatment plan that is right for you. Download the SYMLIN Progress Tracker to record your A1C results.
