What is an A cel?
The term ‘A cel’ signifies a top-notch cel in the cel grading scheme. Generally it will involve a single character, very well centered on the cel, looking forward with their eyes open (or winking), with a generally pleasant expression. The image will be large and take up most of the cel. In general the mouth will be closed. A smile is preferable but not required as some characters never smile. A portrait-type shot is often an A cel. Some people tend to expand the A terms. For an especially nice cel they might use ‘A+’ or ‘AAA’ and for a not-quite A cel they might use ‘A-‘ or ‘AB’ (between A and B).
