What is Advent House?
Advent House is both a place and a program, each a ministry of Christ Church Cathedral. Where is it? The place Advent House is adjacent to the Cathedral grounds on the corner of Seventh and Carondelet. Its a commodious old house renovated to provide comfortable space for groups and individuals to engage in opportunities for spiritual growth. Two apartments are available for out of town directees and for retreatants. When was it started? Advent House was started as an outreach ministry of Christ Church Cathedral to meet the need of making spiritual direction available to the clergy, their families and lay ministers of the Diocese of Louisiana. Fr. Steve Holzhalb began the work as Director of Advent House in July of 1996, and the house was ready to receive guests in early 1997. What is the program?
