What is a water purifier ultraviolet ionizer?
A water purifier ultraviolet ionizer is a water treatment device used by water municipalities and hospitals to purify water. Subjecting clear, pre-filtered, particle free water to strong UV rays (in the 200-300 nanometer range), the water purifier ultraviolet ionizer effectively eliminates bacteria, yeasts, viruses, molds and other harmful organisms present in water. If sub-micron particles remain in the water, however, the UV light may not come into contact with the organism because it can shield itself behind the particle. Therefore, if the goal is to produce pure drinking water, the water purifier ultraviolet ionizer must be used in conjunction with sediment and carbon filters.
