What is a VIN Etch?
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) etching is a security technique in which your vehicle’s identification number is permanently etched into all the glass of the vehicle. VIN Etching marks the vehicle with its own unique set of ‘fingerprints’ which is used to deter car thieves by making the car less appealing to steal, making the car easier to identify, and making it harder to take the car apart and sell it for parts. VIN Etching is simple, fast, safe, and relatively inexpensive and won’t mar the look of the vehicle. Numbers are etched into the glass with a chemical solution and those numbers will be there permanently.
