What is a Truss?
A truss is an engineered product designed to carry roof or floor loads out to bearings. A truss is manufactured from custom cut components which are connected together using metal truss plates. Residential roof trusses are usually installed at 2′ On Center (OC), Post Frame trusses up to 10′ OC and Floor Trusses are used at 12″, 16″, 19.2″ or 24″ OC depending on the depth and span.
