What is a transducer?
The major function of the transducer is to convert electrical energy from the transmitter into sound/mechanical energy. The transducer then picks up the sound after it reflects off of the object. The transducer is one of the most important parts of an echo sounder system, and it is sometimes the most neglected. The transducer can be compared to the speakers of a stereo system. A high quality speaker placed in the ideal location will deliver the best results. The same is true with transducers. Back to top.
