What is a referral?
Referral Courses can be done if you have completed your pool and theory dive training at another PADI dive shop, such as your local dive shop. Once you come to Thailand you can then finish your training dives with us. This is a great option if you don’t want to spend two days of your holiday with pool and classroom training.
While the PADI Scuba Diver course is a way to avoid doing any training on your trip, you may want to consider a referral course if you live in a cold climate and can’t do the open water dives because of the weather. Aquatic Adventures provides a program whereby we will take you through the classroom and pool portions of your certification course in Wisconsin and then make arrangements for you to complete the open water dives with another PADI dive center during your vacation. Our regular referral program begins in November and runs through April, but you can arrange for a referral at anytime during the year. Aquatic Adventures currently charges $249 for the classroom and pool portions of the course, and you can complete this work in one weekend. The receiving dive center will of course collect a fee for the open water dives. These fees range from $75 to about $300. A referral is a request from a care provider to the MIT Health Plans to approve services outside of MIT Medical. A provider’s suggestion that a patient may need outside services is not a guarantee of health plan coverage. If your provider suggests outside services, you may want to ask them if they are submitting an official referral request on your behalf.
