What is a Hot Track?

0

Hot track applies only to our nitro classes. During the three minute time between heats, the nitro vehicles are allowed on the track to warm up. When there is one minute to go, the Race Director will announce “Come in to get fuel.” When the three minute clock between heats runs out, the track goes “live” or “hot”. This means that when you cross the starting line, your five minute clock starts. The idea is to get all the cars spread out before the start of the qualifier. Drivers are not permitted to stop and “wait” for the track is live tone. Please keep your car moving.
