What is a Fluoroscopy exam?
Fluoroscopy requires an x-ray unit that uses an Image Intensifier to allow the physicians to view in real-time, 2D (images similar to a movie) of your internal structures. Fluoroscopy procedures can be used to examine areas such as gastro-intestinal, urology, spine and joints and minor operative procedures. Because fluoroscopy involves the use of x-rays (ionizing radiation), all fluoroscopy procedures pose some health risks.
