What is a Finger Joint?

0

The “Finger Joint” is a way in which we can join, end to end, staves of wood. Previously this had to be achieved by the use of a “Butt Joint” and the Butt Joint is far less strong than the Finger Joint. In our attempts to bring the highest quality block to you we feel it is important to consider these factors. The reason a Finger Joint is stronger than a Butt joint is that the glue surface is greatly increased in a Finger Joint. Our glue is actually stronger than the wood itself which makes it very strong joint indeed. By maximizing the glue surface we can create a joint far superior to the old Butt Joint locking the pieces of wood together as if they were one.
