What is a coaching relationship?

0

A coaching relationship is an alliance between the Coach and client that will provide discovery, enlightenment, encouragement and direction to achieve their chosen outcomes. The Coach is committed to the client’s success and to keeping the client focused and on track. The Coach may even challenge the client to help them change beliefs and behaviours that are acting as obstacles to the goals they wish to achieve. This type of relationship is unique as we don’t often have the opportunity to focus solely on ourselves, our goals and aspirations. The role of the Coach is to be objective, non-judgmental and uncritical so as to provide a “safe” environment in which the client can express themselves freely without fear of being judged or criticized.
