What is a BAS degree?
A Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree is a fully accredited degree program designed for working adults. The degree program takes into consideration that working adults receive college level training and work experience in the work force. This Applied Science (AS) portion of the degree title means that the adult student receives credit from work experience and training gained through business and industrial programs, military service schools, apprenticeship programs, on-the-job training, and other traditional and non-traditional learning experiences. Under the BAS degree program an individual can receive up to 12 college credit hours for 48 months of performance evaluated work experience. The total credit hours required for the BAS degree is 124 hours.
